Pod Squad: Meet Civil Beat’s New Education and Business Reporters

Listen to Civil Beat’s newest staffers — Stewart Yerton and Suevon Lee — talk about their goals, unforgettable stories and a Grateful Dead song.

By April Estrellon /

Business reporter Stewart Yerton and education reporter Suevon Lee join the Pod Squad to discuss their new roles at Civil Beat.

Both reminisced about the most memorable stories they ever worked on during their journalism career. For Suevon, that was a 2007 profile of controversial Washington, D.C. school chancellor and ed reformer Michelle Rhee. Stewart recalled an out-of-the-box investigative series he produced for the New Orleans Times-Picayune about the commercial trade in human cadavers.

Stewart Yerton and Suevon Lee join Chad Blair for the Pod Squad.
