By April Estrellon /

There are moves afoot at the Honolulu City Council and the Legislature to impose restrictions on ride-hailing companies such as Uber and Lyft.

Civil Beat reporters Anita Hofschneider and Nathan Eagle join Pod Squad host Chad Blair to talk about the battle over proposed regulations that Uber says would put it out of business in Hawaii and that taxi companies support as evening the playing field.

Hofschneider and Eagle also take the opportunity to educate Blair on just how catching rides with the newfangled ride-hailing companies works.

From left, Chad Blair, Anita Hofschneider and Nathan Eagle talk about the new ride-hailing companies and traditional taxis.
